Maximize productivity with hassle-free machine tending. Mecademic's compact robots offer a simple setup to feed components in/out of any machine tool.

Machine Tending

Mecademic robots provide a solution for automating machine tending tasks, such as loading and unloading components in laser engraving machines, metrology systems, and machine tools. Our robot arms are compact, light, and flexible, making them easy to install inside machines without obstructing them. Our robotic solutions are designed to be easily commissioned and controlled and can integrate with almost any gripper. Installing our robots onto linear stages increases transfer distances without compromising precision, making it an affordable and convenient option.

Why choose Mecademic robot arms for automated machine tending?

01

Tend equipment without obstructing it

Our robots are unbelievably small, compact, light, and can be mounted in different orientations. With their tiny footprint and extensive flexibility, they can be installed directly onto or inside a machine. Try them with one of the custom-made protective sleeves for harsh environments!

02

Choose from multiple grippers

Whether you prefer to use Mecademic’s miniature electric gripper or a third-party technology, our robots are easy to integrate with almost any gripper. Control pneumatic grippers or vacuum generators from the robot itself using our pneumatic module or from your PC/PLC. For an easy gripping solution without cables or pneumatic tubing, try the SCHUNK ADHESO.

03

Interface with ease

Our robots are designed as slaves and are very easy to commission and control. As slave automation components, our robots can be controlled by your machine, and not the other way around. You can send commands to the robots via TCP/IP, EtherCAT or EtherNet/IP!

04

Easily increase transfer distances

Installing Mecademic robots onto linear stages is a convenient and affordable way to increase transfer distances without compromising precision and without the hassle and higher costs associated with using a bigger robot. Due to their tiny weight and size, our robots are easily transported without compromising repeatability.

Choose the right robot for your machine tending automation project

SCARA Robot

If your application contains small parts presented on horizontal surfaces, and if the parts can be inserted without reorienting them about non-vertical axes, then our SCARA robot is the perfect candidate for your robotic automated assembly application.

Meca500 Robot

In some automated assembly scenarios, our Meca500 robot arm is a better fit. Choose the six-axis robot if:

  • your application involves working with parts that are presented in different orientations (such as in 3D bin picking) or that need to be reoriented about non-vertical axes;
  • small tilting motions are required during the fitting process, even when parts theoretically remain horizontal;
  • your application does not have a horizontal mounting surface;
  • a tool turret end effector is used.
